Societal networks are vital infrastructure systems —
transportation, energy, healthcare, etc. — which
underpin societies and contribute to their overall well being and prosperity.
The Stanford Center for Societal Networks explores the power and increasingly
universal reach of low-cost sensing and networking technology to address
pressing problems that arise in societal networks.
We apply principles, architectures and algorithms developed in the context
of data and mobile networks and incentive mechanisms to make societal
networks smarter, more scalable and more efficient.
